The Brewery Altstadthof – Beer and franconian whisky
It is located below the Albrecht-Duerer-House and directly above the entrance to the well-known Nuremberg rock cut cellars.
In the middle of Nuremberg's old town, the good Franconian red beer is being brewed. The producation of the beer has started in 1984. A special feature, in addition to the beer, are the self-distilled spirits of the brewery. The classics include Ayrer's Organic Single Malt Whisky.
The Altstadthof is built on the centuries-old history of the rock cut cellars and beer storage chambers. If you are interested in the history of the city and the culinary traditions of Nuremberg, you should not miss a tour through the underground cellars. The Altstadthof offers exciting tours for all generations. You get to know the history of the Nuremberg beer culture and learn more about the history of the city itself.
At the end of each underground cellars tour, you end up back in the Altstadthof brewery. My tip here is a stop in the cosy restaurant of the Altstadthof. Here you can round the day off with a delicious plate of the best cheese noodles in the city together with a cool red beer.
If you are still looking for that perfect gift to take home with you, you should definitely take a look in the shop of the brewery. Here you can buy all of their products.
