Weinmarkt in Nürnberg mit Menschen im Café
The Weinmarkt is like a small vacation resort in the middle of Nuremberg.

Soaking up the special flair at the Weinmarkt.

Let me take you to my new favorite spot – the Weinmarkt in the heart of Nuremberg’s Old Town. Surrounded by cozy cafés, fine craftsmanship, and upscale dining, I’m reminded of Paris.

Have you ever been to the French capital? In the winding alleys around its most famous sights, elegant restaurants stand side by side with charming street cafés offering delicious pastries – and bars that invite you to watch the hustle and bustle of the city over a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

That’s exactly the vibe I get from Nuremberg’s Weinmarkt. Between the beloved Weißgerbergasse with its picturesque timber-framed houses and St. Sebald Church, I’ve found my very own little Paris – right in the middle of Nuremberg’s Old Town.
In addition to masterful craftsmanship, one thing certainly isn’t missing here: indulgence. Within a very small area, you’ll find some of Nuremberg’s best restaurants – including the two Michelin-starred Essigbrätlein, which sources its ingredients from the local Knoblauchsland region and turns salsify, fennel, or beetroot into true works of art.

But international palates are also in for a treat: At Prison St. Michel, you can enjoy a tender Entrecôte au Poivre, fine mezze bring Turkish flavors to the table – and at the new 075 Weinbar, a glass of wine pairs perfectly with watching the vibrant street life.
A visit is especially worthwhile in the warmer months. The surrounding streets have been turned into pedestrian zones, allowing cafés and restaurants to set up tables and chairs outside – the perfect place to end your day under the open sky.
